Well folks, here we go! This comic kicks off year two of TOACM and the new story arc, NEWSFLASH!
Some of you may remember we were briefly introduced to Mr. Chet back in "ChetCo." from February (and via voice over inĀ "One Week Later" as well).
As for Mr. George here, he is named for (and slightly modeled after) my good friend, and former TOACM collaborator, Mr. Joe George. The pic to the left is of Joe (left) and me (right) in Artist's Alley at Wizard World Chicago 2003.
Make sure to tune in tomorrow as we celebrate TOACM's first official birthday!
In the meantime, check out this work-in-progress layout sketch below:

Wow. Textbook example of using writing, panel layout, shadowing and pacing to create tension. Actually, you should put out your own textbook.
I wonder if ChetCo is hiring?
The lighting and the clouds in the background against your flat graphic style really set a great mood. Plus the dialogue on top. It really shows what is possible in comics.
Great stuff, Denver. You keep us on our toes!
Ooh! Dramatic.
@BRIAN: Wow, thanks for the compliments and the confidence in my work! I really appreciate it! A text book you say?
@BRANDON: LOL! ChetCo. is always hiring, they’re the largest employer in Exotic City you know…
@FRANK: Thanks, In past strips I got a little too punch drunk with textures, so I wanted to use them sparingly and with more purpose. Glad it/they worked for you.
@TOM: I promise not every strip will be a teaser to something! Stuff is/will happen! Honest! =o)
@DADA: =o) It’s all about the drama…I live with an actor so…I’m learning…
I really like how the last panel turned out. Excellent work can’t wait to see what’s next
Ooo drama, dun dun dun!!!
