I recently found this article over on INKed which talks about overlooked webcomics with a definitive visual style:
Recently I spoke with Kurt Sasso of TGTmedia, and briefly spoke of a few webcomics that I have come across that have great style that just seem to get overlooked. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I wanted to take a minute to go over some of the webcomics that I see that visually set themselves apart.
If you follow me on any social network I am sure you have seen this comic before. Denver Brubakers lovable black and white Tales of the Checkered Man delivers a great quick read adventure world once a week. The dark colors and animated expressions pull me in page after page.
Why I think this comics gets overlooked… is the speed of the website, I have been tempted to donate for him to get a better host. There was a short hiatus taken last year but came right back into action with some wonderfully done banners.
Why I hope it succeeds…. I wish there were more great adventure comics like this, a bit of humor, a bit of action, and a lot of entertainment. You can tell Denver takes this project seriously, I hope to see a book in the future.
What do you think? Do you agree/disagree? I'd love to hear your comments/thoughts on the subject...
-Denver

I think it is well deserved. I have always liked your style, goes without saying, but lately, with “Isle of Terror”, I’ve been digging (apart from the story), the contrast in the panels. Take that bunny rock idol panel. The perspective shot, and the dark/light shading is awesome, as well as the texture. The atmosphere is perfect for that cave, the action lines are well blended (they usually stand out on most panels I’ve seen around, which is the usual approach, to stress motion, but here, they become part of the environment).
As for the the rest of the article you well deserved, I think it hits straight on the head.
Like I said. Well deserved.
Well you know I agree with the positives. As far as speed of the site… I’ve noticed it to be a real problem. Here and there, but not so different from any other site.
