-THE COMIC-

Tales of a Checkered Man is a love letter to caped-crusaders, classic adventure pulps and traditional newspaper strips featuring a well-intentioned, but mostly inept, masked man of mystery who tries his best to strike fear into the hearts of the crooks and criminals of Exotic City. Who is this masked stranger? Where did he come from? Why does he choose to fight crime and evil and defend those who cannot defend themselves? What secrets lay hidden in his checkered past? No one knows... TOACM made its debut online on April 6th, 2010 and updates weekly.

-THE CREATOR(S)-

Tales of a Checkered Man creator Denver Brubaker currently hangs his hat in Chicago, IL with his fiancée Jillian and their dog, Roxy. Denver grew up along Lake Michigan and not only spent lots of time drawing, but playing baseball and building stuff with Legos. He still loves drawing, baseball, and Legos! In his spare time he enjoys walking, drawing, reading, watching TV, old time radio shows, going to the movies or the theatre, as well as cool, old comics. If Denver wasn’t doing what he does now he is certain he would have made a cool paleontologist that had amazing adventures kinda like Indiana Jones. Maybe.
