Tales of a Checkered Man is a love letter to masked mystery men, caped-crusaders, classic adventure pulps and traditional newspaper strips featuring a rather unorthodox character armed with the best of intentions and a bad case of acrophobia as he learns to become the hero he imagines himself to be. TOACM made its debut online on April 6th, 2010 and updates once per week on Tuesdays.

Tales of a Checkered Man creator Denver Brubaker currently lives in Ann Arbor, MI with his fiancé Jillian and their dog, Roxy. Denver grew up along Lake Michigan and not only spent lots of time drawing, but playing baseball and building stuff with Legos. He still loves drawing, baseball, and Legos. In his spare time he enjoys walking, drawing, reading, watching TV, old time radio shows, going to the movies or the theatre, as well as cool, old comics. Webmaster: Brandon Brubaker was raised by a pack of wild coyotes. The feral boy was eventually discovered by a mystical shaman who brought the lad up as his own.
