If you would like to participate in the Fan-Art Friday series or if you are interested in submitting your own Tales of a Checkered Man please read the guidelines below:
FAN-ART FRIDAY: Draw the Checkered Man, Squid-Girl, Joey or any character or combination of characters from the Tales of a Checkered Man comic strip in your own unique and personal art style in any medium -- pen & ink, pencil, crayon, paint or pixels -- whatever you feel most comfortable with! Please keep in mind that this is a comic strip for readers of all ages so no artwork containing gore, nudity or profanity will be accepted. Finally, email your final picture via email to denver[at]thecheckeredman[dot]com in either a .jpg or .png file format with a resolution of 96dpi.
TOACM GUEST STRIP: If you are interested in submitting a guest strip please read the following guidelines below:
- The guest strip is to be written, drawn, inked, lettered, colored/toned, etc. by you or your production staff/team.
- I will be more than happy to look at thumbnails, rough drafts, scripts, etc. prior to production if you would like.
- TOACM is an all-ages comic so please do not include content such as graphic violence, nudity, profanity, etc.
- Though TOACM is a black & white comic, you are allowed to produce your guest strip in color.
- Color guides or model sheets can be made available on request.
- Your guest strips will NOT be considered “canon” in the TOACM series.
- Any/all of the characters appearing in the TOACM comics are open and available to be used in your guest strip—please, do not feel obligated to include only the Checkered Man in your guest strip. If Joey, Penelope, Squid-Girl, etc. interest you more then by all means...
- Please provide your guest strips in the .jpg format with a resolution no less than 96dpi.
- Please provide your guest strip at 980px wide.
- Comics are a sequential art so please do not submit what would essentially be a pin-up as your guest strip. If you would like, send in your pin-up as a Fan-Art Friday entry instead! One-panel gags are fine as long as there’s some “story” within and not just a static pose.
