Dear Friends,
This Thursday marks the debut of my first Tales of a Checkered Man print collection subtitled "Begins." In this first volume, I've collected all of the earliest strips from TOACM #001 from April 2010 through TOACM #066 in early December 2010. As I've gone through and "re-mastered" this span of comics by re-toning them, editing them, and even re-ordering them the strips posted to this site are out of date and no longer tell the TOACM story the way I want you, my readers, to experience it--I've even added about a dozen new strips that help better tell the story of how we first meet our hero, Joey, Penelope, Mulveny, Dougy, Norb and M'htrew the Dark One. The book offers a much more consistent, and just plain better reading experience.
That means that as of today, these strips will be removed from the archive between now and Wednesday night. In their place I will add some "preview" strips and an advertisement directing new readers, and/or those of you who may want to dive into the archives for a refresher, will no longer be able to access these comics for free here on this site.
I hope that you will understand this decision. We webcomic creators work hard to bring you this entertainment and we offer it to you to enjoy for free. Here's a chance for you to show your support of this comic strip by purchasing the print collection.
